Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, my connection to art and music was nurtured from birth, thanks to my parents' creativity and enthusiasm. My first significant video project was a video report about a Judo tournament, with interviews, for my 7th grade Video Technology class with my great teacher, Ms. Cathy Seem Ruggiero. Later, when I joined the work force, I received encouragement when my boss, historian Tim Hills, allowed me to shoot videos of his history lectures and post them on YouTube. I became friends with classical concert pianist Marie-Luise Hinrichs (who is now my girlfriend), and my desire to share her music with the world, through piano performance videos, became the greatest motivator for me to develop my skills. I started learning through self-study, mentorship, YouTube tutorials, online classes, and through connecting with other film/video hobbyists, including Portland Community Media/Open Signal. I got involved in live concert videos, short films, wedding videos, and more. While shooting video about a local sustainability festival, I met rapper/filmmaker Quincy Davis of Seven Vision Studios, who became my friend, mentor, and greatest influence in learning the craft. Next, I met the Possibly Irish band, for whom I have shot and edited five music videos over the past few years. Which brings us to today. I would like to continue producing music videos, weddings, and short films, and would like to get into sports video, feature films, documentaries, wildlife, and animation.
